The first Greater Bay Area Youth Forum, themed " Working Together to Create a Green Future, " was held on May 15th at Lingnan University in Hong Kong. It was jointly organized by Shenzhen University and Lingnan University to raise young people's awareness of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues and inspire their innovative spirit. Over 30 experts from various industries in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, including senior scholars, business executives, public relations professionals, and young entrepreneurs, were invited. The forum included thematic speeches, group discussions, and panel discussions, attracting more than 450 university students.
At the invitation of the School's Foreign Affairs Office, Associate Professor Nina, Assistant Professor Qi Han, and Counselor Zhang Taotao led a delegation of 31 students and faculty representatives from our institute to the forum.

During the forum, Associate Professor Nina and Assistant Professor Qi Han shared their insights on "How to Address Climate Change: Evidence from Enterprises, the Public, and Public Welfare Sectors" and "Assessing Hong Kong's Carbon Footprint: The Evolution of Direct and Indirect Emissions," respectively. A student team participated in group discussions, exploring sustainable entrepreneurship development with young people from Hong Kong and Shenzhen.
Chen Qilin, a master's student in Artificial Intelligence from the 2022 cohort, shared her green entrepreneurship experience as a student representative from Shenzhen University.
Sun Yidi, a 2020 Financial Technology undergraduate student, and Zhang Yuqun, a 2019 Financial Technology undergraduate student, were invited as keynote speakers in the special discussion session. They expressed their views on green future development from the perspective of young students in the Greater Bay Area.
Through participation in the event, our students gained a deeper understanding of the development trends in the green fintech industry within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area while deepening their knowledge of sustainable development.
This forum has played an essential role in enhancing students' professional knowledge and clarifying their academic direction. Students will also leverage their disciplinary expertise to contribute to sustainable development and work collaboratively towards building a green ecological civilization!
