MSc in Financial Technology & Risk Control

MSc in Financial Technology and Risk Control is aChinese-foreign cooperative programjointly launched by Shenzhen University and Audencia Business School, France, which is approved by the Ministry of Education in 2020.The program has a duration of two years, with courses taught in Chinese and English. The teaching is full-time, and all courses are completed at Shenzhen University. A distinguished teaching team has been formed by both Chinese and French sides, aiming to leverage the strengths of the two schools to jointly develop interdisciplinary fintech talents with international competitiveness. This program supports China's leading position in the field of financial technology, addresses the shortage of fintech talents, and serves the future development of the fintech industry in the Guangdong-HongKong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the Shenzhen Pilot Demonstration Zone.

The Master Program of Financial Technology and Risk Control is an in-depth integration of advanced technology and finance, with typical multi-disciplinary characteristics. It combines the unique strengths of Shenzhen University in Finance and Computer Science, especially in areas such as Big Data, Information Security, and High-performance Computing, with the advanced experience of Audencia Business School in building the major of Risk Management, constructing interdisciplinary subjects, and developing international talent with employment competitiveness. The program trains the students to systematically grasp the theoretical frontier and development trends of the financial technology discipline, to master the abilities to apply scientific methods to financial services and to conduct effective risk control.

MODULES

FEATURES OF THE PROGRAM

Domestic and foreign certified master’s degree:The degree will be certified by both China and France for the Sino-foreign cooperative education program approved by the China’s Ministry of Education.

Highly capable faculty:The Institute has highly capable faculty members from China and France. In addition to the Chinese teachers and instructors of the Institute, some specialized courses are taught by elites from the fintech industry. The faculty has strong capabilities in research with a global vision.

Diverse research and Sino-French activities:The Institute organizes a number of top-level lectures every semester, featuring senior experts from various sectors such as finance and hi-tech. Students can also go to France to participate in innovative entrepreneurship and social practice activities in France.

Extensive job opportunities:According to the China Fintech Employment Report, the fintech industry is currently facing a severe shortage of fintech professionals. The Institute has signed strategic cooperation agreements and Institute-business cooperation agreements with a number of well-known companies, and internship bases have been established to provide students in the Sino-foreign cooperative education program with learning and working platforms for fintech-related technology learning, research and development, internship and training. More than 90% of students landed internship jobs at their ideal companies before graduation.

DEGREE CONFERMENT

Upon completion of the required course credits and successful defense of the thesis, Audencia Business School will confer a Master of Science degree in Financial Technology & Risk Control, which can be certified by the China Service Center for Scholarly Exchange under Ministry of Education of China.

AUDENCIA DREAM CREDIT

Audencia Dream Credit is a unit of credits in the “Audencia Dream Credit” series of activities launched by the Audencia Business School (France). It is open to all undergraduate and graduate students of the Shenzhen Audencia Financial Technology Institute. Students have the opportunity to earn credits every time they participate in this series of activities; the credits they can obtain each time vary based on different activities. The accumulated credits can be converted to the Audencia International Study Tour Fund, gifts, or souvenirs (such as books about French culture, souvenirs, eligibility for an international study tour, etc.).

ADMISSION METHOD

The SAFTI adopts the application-review system, independent enrollment, and enrolls outstanding students through material review, written test, and interview (without the need to participate in the National Postgraduate Entrance Examination).

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

All of the following requirements must be met:

1. Be fresh or previous bachelor graduates from domestic and foreign regular universities with degrees recognized by the Ministry of Education (in majors related to Economics, Management, Science and Engineering).

2. With an IELTS score of 6, a TOEFL score of 84, a TOEIC score of 650, or a Duolingo score of 100 or above. If language test scores are not available at the time of application, applicants can apply first and submit the scores later according to the specific requirements of the college (IELTS or TOEFL scores are preferred). Applicants who have completed an undergraduate degree with courses taught entirely in English are exempted from submitting language test scores.

3. With a GPA of 2.7 or above (on a 4.0 scale). If the GPA is below 2.7, applicants should have relevant work experience or other outstanding professional skills.
