"2023 Workshop on Accounting and Financial Studies amid Great Changes" Held Successfully

The "2023 Workshop on Accounting and Financial Studies Amid Great Changes" was held successfully at Shenzhen University on November 11, 2023.Scholars from Singapore Management University (SMU), The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), Tsinghua University, Fudan University, Shenzhen University, and other prestigious universities at home and abroad exchanged views on frontier issues of accounting and financial studies.

Gu Wei, Vice-Dean of Shenzhen University WeBank Institute of FinTech (SWIFT), warmly welcomed the distinguished scholars on behalf of the institute. She introduced the development history of the institute, its academic and scientific research, and its achievements in talent training, and wished the workshop a success.

Wu Liansheng of the Southern University of Science and Technology presided over the morning session. Zhang Liandong of Singapore Management University made a keynote presentation titled "How Labor Market Competition Shapes Workplace Information on Social Media: Evidence from Glassdoor Reviews". After Zhang Liandong’s presentation, Li Minger of Shenzhen University and You Jiaxing of Xiamen University presented papers, and Li Sheng and Zheng Ying of Sun Yat-sen University commented on the papers.

Ge Rui, Vice-Dean of SWIFT, presided over the afternoon session. Zhang Ran of the Renmin University of China delivered a keynote presentation titled "Quantamental Investing - Integration and Innovation of Academia and Investment".Zeng Cheng and Xiang Yi of PolyU, and Zhang Weining of the Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business presented their new research findings, and Ni Chenkai of Fudan University, XinQian of the Harbin Institute of Technology, Shenzhen, and Wang Zigan of Tsinghua University commented on the findings.

The workshop has combined theory with practice and promoted learning and research. The presentations and discussions by the experts and scholarshavebroadened the academic horizon of the attendees, and deepened their understanding and knowledge of related fields. The success of the workshop has not only promoted academic exchanges and cooperation, but also strengthened academic ties between universities. Hopefully, more outstanding scholars will visit SWIFT for academic exchanges and cooperation, and through exchanges and cooperation, the two sides will discuss frontier academic issues, share research findings and experience, and improve academic standards and research capabilities together.
